Mother Mable Jean Jones In Marieta TX, on Saturday, November 19, 1938, Mable Jean Stafford was born to the proud parents, Simon and Mable Stafford. In the mid-forties she, her parents, and siblings moved to Stockton, CA. Mable was active in church and loved to sing at an early age, leading songs in the choir and singing heartfelt solos. Mable was active in the youth choir, Sunday School, Bible Training Union (BTU) and various other disciplines. In 1954, Mable met a handsome young man by the name of Johnnie Jones. After a short courtship, on January 12, 1955 the two were joined together in Holy Matrimony. The Lord blessed them with five beautiful children: Sharon, Johnnie Junior, Ricky, Yvonne, and Jeffrey. In 1955, Mable got saved and received the Holy Ghost at a revival in San Francisco, CA. Mable and Johnnie later founded Greater Love Church of God in Christ on September 2, 1969 in Milpitas, CA. First Lady Mother Jones worked by her husband's side and blessed many souls to come to Christ. She was very active within the Church of God in Christ working with the Women's Department, the Hospitality Department, and as a dedicated Missionary and Mother for Greater Love COGIC. Mable enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crochet and believed in giving back to the community. She helped her husband to establish a food drive in Milpitas, feeding hundreds of homeless and families in need of food. She also dedicated her cooking attributes to assist with running the family business at Quincy's Bar-B-Q restaurant. Mable loved her family, her church family, and most of all she loved the Lord. On Monday, December 7, 2015, the Lord saw fit to call Mother Jones from labor to glory. Mother Jones leaves to mourn, her husband of 61 years, Pastor Johnnie Q. Jones Sr.; Daughter Sharon (Darryl) Dove of Portland OR; Son Johnnie Q Jones Junior of Discovery Bay/Glendale CA; Son Ricky (Karen) Jones of Tracy, CA; Daughter Yvonne (Michael) Ridgely of San Ramon CA; and Son, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Jones of Tustin CA.
